Flyers recall Bartulis
For the second time in the last two weeks, the Philadelphia Flyers have recalled Phantoms defenseman Oskars Bartulis.
Bartulis has two goals and assists for four points in 12 games, leading the Phantoms defense in scoring.
Skidmore field hockey gets first-round bye
The Skidmore College field hockey team will open NCAA Division III Championship play on Saturday at Tufts University at 2 p.m.
The Thoroughbreds will face the winner of Wednesday's Amherst College/Husson College game in the second-round match.
GF Baseball Hall of Fame induction set for Friday
The Glens Falls Area Baseball Hall of Fame annual dinner and induction ceremony will take place Friday night at the Queensbury Hotel. The cash bar opens at 5 p.m. with dinner starting at 6 p.m., and tickets must be ordered in advance by calling 932-9676.
The Master of Ceremonies, Ed Bartholomew, will help honor Hal Williams, John Spizzo and Dave Palmer Sr. as present and former American Legion Baseball Program coaches.
Former Major League Baseball pitcher and Glens Falls native David Palmer Jr. plans to attend, and a silent auction will take place throughout the evening. The Hall of Fame exhibit is also on display in the Queensbury Hotel lobby.
