GLENS FALLS
Garage Sale Donations -- The Glens Falls High School Chapter of Friends of Rachel is looking for gently used clothing and household items for a community garage sale scheduled for Nov. 14. Items may be dropped off between 4 and 6 p.m. Monday, and 6 and 8 p.m. Tuesday in the high school cafeteria.
Southern Adirondack RAPP Meeting -- The Southern Adirondack RAPP (Relatives As Parents Program) will hold a coffee and conversation meeting from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Glens Falls Family YMCA, 1 Fire Road. The purpose of the meeting is to provide mutual support and education for grandparents and other relatives who have taken on the responsbility of parenting a relative's child.
Childcare for children ages 6 months to 10 years is available on site with advance registration. Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at the YMCA and are free of charge. For more information or to register for childcare, call RAPP coordinator Roxanne Westcott at 668-4881 or 623-3291.
HUDSON FALLS
Save Energy/Dollars Workshop -- Cornell Cooperative Extension of Washington County will conduct Save Energy, Save Dollars workshops at 10 a.m. Monday and 16 at the Head Start on Dix Avenue. Participants will learn about low-cost and no-cost energy conservation methods; both one-hour sessions must be attended to receive a free energy saving kit.

LAKE GEORGE
Baskets and Desserts Day -- The Ladies Auxiliary of the Lake George Volunteer Fire Department will have its annual "baskets and desserts day" on Sunday. The doors open at 1 p.m. and the drawings begin at 3 p.m. Admission is $10 and includes a starter pack of raffle tickets, door prize ticket and desserts. Reservations are recommended but tickets can also be bought at the door. All proceeds will go to the auxiliary's holiday family program.

MINEVILLE
Roast Pork Dinner -- The Church of All Saints will hold a roast pork dinner at noon Sunday at the Port Henry Knights of Columbus Hall.
This event is the winter fuel fundraiser and the menu consists of roast pork, mashed potatoes and gravy, baby carrots and green beans, cole slaw, applesauce, rolls, apple pie, pumpkin pie, tea, and coffee. The price is $9 per person, and takeout is available.
The event will also include a 50/50 raffle and a basket raffle.
QUEENSBURY
Ham Dinner -- The Glens Falls Elks Lodge, 32 Cronin Road, will hold a ham dinner with all the trimmings from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children younger than age 12, with proceeds going to the Adirondack Vets House.
Medicare Program -- The Glen at Hiland Meadows, 39 Longview Drive, will offer a free program on Medicare and Part D Prescription Plans from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday in the Conkling Room. Harriet Bunker of the Glens Falls Office for the Aging will give an overview of health care plans available for seniors with Medicare, will discuss changes in 2010, and the Medicare Part D Prescription Plan. There will also be time for questions.

Toastmasters Meeting -- The Thorobred Toastmasters will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Longfellows Restaurant, 500 Union Ave. The meeting is free and open to anyone interested in practicing public speaking and leadership skills in a supportive environment.

Reunion -- The Old Saratoga Historical Association will hold a reunion of town of Saratoga one-room school students at 2 p.m. Sunday at town hall. Public Health has a childbirth class monthly. Participants do not have to live in Warren County. Public Health also has a travel clinic for people who will be traveling out of the country. STD/HIV and blood pressure clinics are free. Immunization clinics provide child and adult immunizations for various fees depending on vaccine. No one is turned away because of an inability to pay.
