Food Drive -- Firefighters from the Eagle Matt Lee Fire Co. #1 of Ballston Spa are seeking donations of non-perishable/non-expired food items for two local food banks. Donations can be dropped off at the firehouse at 35 Washington St. from 6 to 9 p.m. on any Monday night in Dec. or at the end of the Friday Christmas parade at Wiswall Park near Santa's mailbox.

Women's Mini-Conference -- Harvesting the Gold Ministry will hold a women's mini-conference from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Village Green Apartments Community Room (former Henry Hudson Townhouses). Korean War Vets Meeting/Social -- The Korean War Veterans, Adirondack Chapter will hold its business meeting and social event at noon Wednesday at the Log Jam Restaurant on Route 9. Reservations may be made by calling Gene and Patti Slavin at 793-2358 or e-mailing slavingp@aol.com.
Veterans, spouses or friends are welcome. Everyone is asked to bring an item for a local food bank instead of the usual grab bag exchange.

Mothers of Twins Meeting -- The Tri-County Mothers of Twins Club will hold its next meeting Wednesday at the home of Debbie O'Neill, 27 Lynette Lane, Queensbury. Final plans for the family holiday party on Dec. 13 at the Saratoga Springs Public Library will be made. A fund raiser with the Rada Knife Co. is planned. Orders will be placed in December and be here for Christmas.

Tuition Assistance Night -- The NY Army National Guard will be holding a tuition assistance night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the new Queensbury armory on Stone Quarry Road.
The event is for Guard members to come and get assistance with their spring tuition paperwork, from the GI Bill programs to the State Tuition program. The event is also open to any veteran needing assistance with college paperwork.

Retired Teachers Luncheon -- The Saratoga Springs Retired Teachers Association will meet at noon Dec. 7 at Longfellows Restaurant, 500 Union Ave. The group is open to retired educators who taught in and/or live in Saratoga County.

Christmas Fair -- Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church, 175 Fifth Ave., will hold its Christmas fair from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Dec. 4, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 5.
Featured will be collectibles, books, crafts, bake sale, garage sale, silent auction, children's games and more.
A surf and turf dinner will be available from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday. The cost is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $4 for children ages 8 and younger. A brunch will be served from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The cost is $5 and up, a la carte pricing.
WARRENSBURG
Making Ends Meet Workshop -- Cornell Cooperative Extension Warren County will be hosting a "Making Ends Meet" financial workshop from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the CCE Education Center, 377 Schroon River Road.
Topics to be covered in this free workshop are setting goals, tracking expenses, exploring options, reducing energy bills and community assistance programs. Refreshments and door prizes will be offered and each participant will also receive a free budgeting kit valued at $15.
