The Saratoga Springs Public Library and the Living Library will present a staged performance based on the life and words of Nobel Prize-winner Richard Feynman, who was known for his work on the Manhattan Project.
The piece, which will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, will be performed by actors Victor Chan and Jesse Wood, with piano music by Carl Landa, in the Harry Dutcher Community Room of Saratoga Springs Public Library, 49 Henry St.
Admission is free, but tickets are required and
are available at the library's first floor information desk.
"We are at the very beginning of time for the human race. It is not unreasonable that we grapple with problems. But there are tens of thousands of years in the future. Our responsibility is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on," Feynman once said, speaking on the importance of science in society.
Feynman's restless
intellect gave him the impulse to look into pursuits as wide ranging as the Mayan Calendar, lucid dreaming, out of the body experience and sensory deprivation tanks.
He created workable theories of the principle of least action, quantum electrodynamics (for which he received the Nobel Prize), superfluidity, nanotechnology and more.
