Giving thanks
My youngest son’s name is Eamonn.
Many people have an issue with spelling it or pronouncing it, depending on if they’ve only read it or heard it. It is pronouned “AY mun” by the way.
Back when he was baptized, his older brothers and cousins got confused when at the end of the service, the priest said “Amen.”
As he sat here eating cheese crackers and apple juice left over from his turn at bringing the classroom snack, he repeated the grace they say together:
“Thank you for the food we eat.
Thank you for the friends we meet.
Thank you for the birds that sing.
Thank you God for everything.”
He then said they end with “Thank you, Eamonn.” Or sometimes they say “Amy.” She’s in the class too.
