Flyers terminate Kaspar’s contract (update 5:03)

UPDATE: The Philadelphia Flyers have confirmed that they terminated Lukas Kaspar’s contract on Tuesday. The organization had no further comment at the time.

A source with the Phantoms confirmed that Kaspar left the team on Saturday to play in Europe.  Kaspar, who was signed to a one-year deal over the summer, left the team some time after playing for the Phantoms in Toronto on Friday night.

In eight games, Kaspar had one goal and two assists with the Phantoms. Kaspar, the 22nd overall pick in the 2004 NHL draft, played 65 games with Worcester last season, scoring 17 goals. He also played 13 games with the San Jose Sharks of the NHL.
