Dog Friendly Downtown

There is a new effort underway to make Saratoga Springs more dog friendly.

Melanie Dallas, who runs Sloppy Kisses on Broadway, announced last week that she’s working on a new Dog Friendly Downtown initiative that could make it easier for canine lovers to shop with their pets in tow.

Stores will be invited to put up a window decal if they consider themselves “dog-friendly,” and a list of such businesses will be listed and mapped online here. A handful of businesses have already been listed, and I’ve seen signs on a few store fronts already.

The program is open to any retail, hotel or restaurant venue with outdoor eating, and is free. Contact Dallas at 587-2207 if interested in signing up.
