Some pregame note

7:26 — Scratches: Jason Ward, Joonas Lehtivuori, Ryan Dingle, Rob Bellamy, Logan Stephenson.

VT Hockey,
Sorry, 4-3. I made a mistake in my rush to get it up.
KK,
I had to stop tweeting so I could meet my print deadline. I won’t next time now that I know people are using it for game updates.
OK, back with the postgame blog in a little bit.

ummmm….. Scoreboard showed a final score of 4-3, Adk had 43 shots on goal, and special teams really pulled it through tonight. The Springfield goalie was, for the most part, a wall tonight stopping 39 shots. Unfortunate that Adk couldn’t shoot on an open net in the last minute. Backlund was in goal and stopped some very tough shots. Springfield only scored when there was too much traffic in front of the goal, Backlund was great between the pipes! Go Phantoms!
I was relying on the Twitter feed…what happened ?
It just would be a silent victory if the Phantoms can outdraw Albany when Albany’s main population base is much larger than the Phantom’s main population base.
3,584 really isn’t bad. As long as they are in that 3,500-4,000+ range then I’d think they would at least be satisfied.
This team needs to keep a man in front of the net and shoot on the power play. Too much finessing and looking for the extra pass going on. Unfortunately, the skill level isn’t there yet for the most part. Keep it simple and the goals will come
I will be going down to Albany tomorrow night to see the Amerks and root for them to beat Albany, anyone else going from section H going??
Who cares about Albany, 3,584 is pretty darn good for a Friday night. We havent drawn an average of over 4,000 fans a game since the early 1980s of the Wings, Id say were doing very well. Why is all the talk always comparing us with Albany??? The only thing I care about regarding Albany is that we beat them on the scoreboard. If Albany beats Glens Falls all season, those fake casual fans in Albany will show up for the Albany games by 10,000 plus and it will look like Albany has fans…Who cares about who shows up in Albany
AHL’s website has the attendance at 3,584. Not terrible, just a little short of ideal. But look on the bright side — the Rats attendance in Albany tonight was 2,162. Now THAT’s terrible.
