Thurs. review/Fri. preview
To the couple of people who’ve commented that I haven’t put their teams up in the last few blogs, I said I would from here on out, post this day’s roundup, so here it is:
Looking at Thursday’s Foothills games, a few quick thoughts:
* Nice first half by Queensbury, putting three goals on the board against Hudson Falls. That’s the kind of, for lack of a better phrase, killer instinct a team needs.
* The autumn of statistical domination resulting in just a 1-0 win continued with Glens Falls beating Scotia (second time this year it’s been a one-goal game). Glens Falls outshot the Tartans 22-0 and outcornered them 19-1. Interesting that sometimes-goalie Brittany Daniels (not in goal this day) got the assist.
* And cheers to both Johnstown and South Glens Falls for their performances. Cheers to Johnstown for making its shots count: 13 shots, 4 goals. Cheers to the Bulldogs for hanging tough against a better squad and outshooting it 14-13.
Looking ahead to Friday, it’s all about the Johnsburg at Warrensburg Adirondack League matchup. Johnsburg is 3-0 in the league and 6-0 overall, while Warrensburg is in second place at 2-1 in the league and 6-2 overall. These teams never fail to have a great contest, and this one should be, too.
Since I mentioned it after the Burghers’ loss to Lake George, I should point out that the Burghers have, in fact, gotten more girls in the scoring column since that loss. That helps add a dimension to them.
For the record, Johnsburg has outscored opponents 17-2, while Warrensburg has outscored its opponents 17-7, though it should be noted that the Burghers had two tough non-league games against Hudson Falls and Greenwich.

Is Johnsburg not good enough to be on the featured poll ? Emily Burns and Kelly Blackurst are doing very well for Johnsburg.
