Cash flowing in to 20th Congressional District race

The first snapshot of fundraising is available in the 20th Congressional District special election race.

And it would appear Democratic, Independence and Working Families candidate Scott Murphy may have received a bump from the release on Thursday of the latest Siena Research Institute poll in which he closed the gap behind Republican and Conservative candidate James Tedisco.

Murphy received $38,600 in contributions of $1,000 or more on Thursday and Friday, according to reports his campaign filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Tedisco received $16,000 in contributions of $1,000 of more on Thursday and Friday, according to reports his campaign filed with the Federal Election Commission.

The campaign for the March 31 special election is in the period when contributions of $1,000 or more must be reported within 48 hours of receiving them.

The first full campaign finance reports are due in to the FEC by 11:59 p.m. Thursday.

Large local contributors to Murphy include John Davidson of Queensbury, an executive with D.A. Collin Companies, and Mark Behan, president of Behan Communications in Glens Falls, a public relations firm that has represented Republican political candidates including state Sen. Elizabeth Little, R-Queensbury, and Warren County District Attorney Kate Hogan.

The American Association for Justice Political Action Committee, Synergy PAC, American Federation of Teachers contributed $5,000 each.
The New York Choice PAC contributed $2,500.

Matt: I take issue with your assertion. I’d say Murphy perfectly embodies the corporatism that has taken over the “Democratic” Party.

  2. Maggie says:

Why did Scott Murphy vote yes so quickly on the stimulus package? Is he going to rubber stamp everything that Nancy Pelosi
wants him to? It sure seems that way. I guess this means Scott Murphy will also support the horrible Mortgage relief act. I for one will be voting for Jim Tedisco.

  3. Matt Funiciello says:

Murphy’s a DINO (Democrat In Name Only). I don’t hate to say I told you so. In fact, I relish it. I told you so. Stop voting two-party. They are just playing with you.

This negative campaigning the big wigs are doing for Jim Tedisco doesn’t help him much! Not when Fact Check.com says it’s not true!I thought Tedisco was going to take over his own campaign, must be the cronies over powered their leader!
