Giuliani to campaign for Tedisco
Former New York City mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani will be campaigning for Jim Tedisco, the Republican candidate in the 20th Congressional special election, Tedisco spokesman Josh Fitzpatrick confirmed just now.
It’s unclear when or where Giuliani will appear with Tedisco. Giuliani’s last visit to the 20th Congressional District in October 2008 did little to help Republican Sandy Treadwell, who was handily defeated by Kirsten Gillibrand.
Fitzpatrick also said House Minority Leader John Boehner and National GOP Chairman Michael Steele will also appear on the hustings to help boost Tedisco.
“We do expect more prominent Republicans,” he said.
Political celebs for Scott Murphy have included Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand who was in Albany over the weekend to endorse and House Majority Steny Hoyer.
“Today we’re focused on local endorsements,” said Murphy spokesman Ryan Rudominer. ”That’s where we’re going to be today.”
Murphy is in Mechanicville today to pick up the endorsement of Mayor Anthony Sylvester and several trade unions.

i received an email recently that there is another person running for Congress. her name is Debby Fellows. she is with the Independence Party and is seeking their endorsement. if she gets it, then the race is even bigger. i believe she is from Porters Corners, in northern Saratoga County. this is what elections are about. not just annointing dems and repubs but getting real people to run like Sundwall and Cerro. and now Fellows.
Not a smart move for Rudy or Tedisco. Reminds me of Sweeney.
I’ve had a chat with Nick Reisman since my last post, and it looks like we may be talking some more in the near future, for which I’m happy to be provided the opportunity.
I really have to take a moment to say thank you to all who have spoken on my behalf over the last few weeks, affirming the legitimacy of my campaign despite it’s unconventional nature. It warms my heart to have friends and total strangers appearing to agree with my decision to run. It makes me all the more dedicated to continue fighting for the interests of my friends and neighbors, be it in Washington, or right here in Hometown USA.
Let’s give The Post Star a bit of time on this. Perhaps you’ll soon be hearing a bit more about me and Mr. Sundwall after all.
Thanks Nick for taking the time to contact me.
Tony,
We have not had much contact. I normally do not cover the Congressional race. No one is holding me back from writing about you. I e-mailed you my direct line. Let’s chat.
Although I continue to provide the Post Star’s writers with information on my campaign and positions, they continue to refuse to post it or report on it.
That’s fine. Theirs is not the only paper in town, and in time, people will know exactly what I’ve been about all along, and exactly what Reismann, Thompson, Mahoney, and Tingley don’t want you to know.
If readers want to find out for themselves, they can see me this Saturday at Centennial Circle in Glens Falls from 2 to 4 pm.
‘Nuff said.
Matt,
Perhaps my phrasing was too flip. I’m filling for Maury this week and I haven’t had much contact with these fellows. I’ll see what’s going on with them.
Nick, are you serious, buddy?
Outside of a few unread blog entries and one buried paragraph in a print issue, the Post-Star has yet to report ANYTHING on either of these candidates.
I know you are aware of this so when you ask me if anything is “new” with these campaigns, I am just stunned. If people primarily read your newspaper, they would be completely ignorant that two other human beings are running for office in CD 20!
It would be great if you could grind the mainstream media culture over there to a halt for a couple of minutes and report on these campaigns.
ANYTHING you report on Erik Sundwall and the Libertarian Party will be new.
ANYTHING you report on Anthony Cerro and his write-in campaign will be totally new.
Might I suggest that Mr. Giuliani and Mr. Tedisco appear together and do a joint reading aloud of the US Constitution?
Who knows, Matt might even let them read it at the Rock Hill Bakehouse.
At least then we’d be sure they read it at least once since high school.
I also heard that next week Murphy and Tedisco will both be releasing photos of their various tattoos. The people want to know.
Matt,
Since you asked so nicely, sure. What’s new with Mr. Sundwall and Mr. Cerro?
Isn’t there anyone else running besides Mr. “I Can Afford To Buy The Demcoratic Party’s Emndorsement” and Mr. “I’ve Got Way Cooler Hair Than Joe Bruno”?
Can’t you find out and report some information on the Libertarian candidate, Erik Sundwall, or on Anthony Cerro, the local write-in candidate? Maybe some discussion of the actual issues?
I mean, I am really cool with Murphy doing dishes and all … and, Tedisco getting endorsements from people in his own party is REALLY interesting and all but …
Would it be too much to ask that we get a little more substance and variety … please?
Pretty please?
Pretty please with sugar on top?
let them spend all their energy, efforts and money trying to elect Tedisco. If that happens, this gerrymandered district is vaporized, so any victory will be short lived at best.
Or maybe they should just hold it at the bleachers of a local HS football stadium. That would suit their relentless grandstanding.
Say it ain’t so, Maury!
Is there a room big enough around here to hold both their egos? And if so, surely the level of hot air would rise to environmentally unsafe levels.
