Nolan backs Tedisco

Saratoga County Republican Chairman John “Jasper” Nolan said Saturday he is supporting Assembly Minority Leader James Tedisco, R-Schenectady, for the party’s nomination in an upcoming special election in the 20th Congressional District.

“I individually have found Jim Tedisco to be very involved in our county,” he said.
Nolan emphasized he was speaking as an individual, and not on behalf of the county committee.
“I’m not the final arbitrator on that, (county endorsement),” he said.

Tedisco is one of five Republicans that have expressed interest publicly in running for the congressional seat being vacated by Kirsten Gillibrand, D-Greenport.
Gov. David Paterson, on Friday, appointed Gillibrand to the U.S. Senate seat that was vacated when Hillary Clinton was appointed U.S. secretary of state.

Other candidates include the following: John Faso of Kinderhook in Columbia County, a former state Assembly minority leader and 2006 Republican gubernatorial candidate; state Sen. Elizabeth Little, R-Queensbury; Alexander “Sandy” Treadwell, a former state secretary of state from Lake Placid; and Richard Wager from Millbrook in Dutchess County.
“There are five solid candidates out there,” Nolan said.

John Faso would be a fine congressman.

  2. Ben Linus says:

Looks like Tedisco is wrapping up the grassroots support. He also got 2nd Amendment supporters, Right to Life and support from the popular Saratoga County Clerk Kathy Marchione. Tedisco will be the candidate and win and be our next Congressman.
